Positive Awareness believes that all girls and boys who are having difficulty in reaching the desired education level at School should be given additional help to achieve the standard required. Quality education can play a crucial role in helping children reach their true potential, reduce poverty and promote gender equality. The holistic remedial education programme delivered is empowering to girls and boys and enables them to develop the skills they need to help them build confidence, make positive changes in their lives, and to make their voices heard.
The Positive Awareness Charity provides a weekly Project in the Caribbean island of Dominica to help underachieving children to improve in Maths and English especially children who experience difficulty in achieving good grades at School and/or generally lack a positive approach.
The Project also provides a monthly Book Club specialising in inspirational books for parents and children. Topics read from the books, stimulate workshop discussions on self empowerment, positive living, confidence building and also help to enforce good relations between parents and children.
